Pour une participation réelle des peuples à la représentation mondiale des nations n’est pas seulement un essai politique. Pour moi, c’est un miroir. En avançant dans ma lecture, je me suis vu complice malgré moi d’un système qui m’exclut, qui parle en mon nom mais sans ma voix. J’ai ressenti ce tiraillement entre la lucidité et l’impuissance. L’auteur réussit à donner des mots à ce malaise collectif. Il met à nu les artifices d’une représentation mondiale où les peuples sont absents, réduits à des spectateurs de décisions prises ailleurs. Ce que j’ai apprécié, c’est le refus des demi-mesures, cette volonté de secouer, de réveiller. Le texte, parfois âpre, m’a obligé à ralentir, à réfléchir, à m’interroger sur ce que je pouvais, moi aussi, faire à mon échelle. Ce livre n’apporte pas de recettes toutes faites, mais il ouvre une brèche : celle d’imaginer une démocratie planétaire plus juste, plus vivante.

Guy Créquie n’a jamais été un chanteur au sens commercial du terme, puisqu’il n’a pas cherché à vivre de ses enregistrements ni à se produire dans le circuit traditionnel des tournées et des ventes de disques. Mais cela ne signifie pas qu’il n’était pas un « vrai » chanteur.

D’abord, il a chanté dans le cadre d’initiatives internationales de paix et de congrès culturels, où sa voix était un instrument de message universel. Ensuite, plusieurs artistes confirmés — dont un musicien ayant accompagné José Carreras, un chanteur ayant chanté à l’Opéra de Paris ou encore un pianiste suédois — lui ont rendu hommage, ce qui atteste d’une reconnaissance artistique. Enfin, sa prestation unique intitulée « Rien que la voix » témoigne d’une démarche exigeante et singulière.

On peut donc affirmer que Guy Créquie était bien un chanteur, mais un chanteur hors des circuits commerciaux, qui a choisi de mettre son art au service de la paix et de l’humanisme plutôt qu’au service du marché.
